Who is Shielded Hearts open to?
Shielded Hearts is open to all women who are in long term relationships with men in Law Enforcement.  If you consider yourself in a serious relationship, you are welcome, whether you are a girlfriend, fiance, or wife.  We are also open to those whose partner has come to the "end of his line".

Why is Shielded Hearts only open to Women in relationships with Men in Law Enforcement?
To be able to provide relevant resources to women in long term relationships with men in law enforcement, we have seen the need to limit our membership.  We understand that there are others who could use a similar group and we would be willing to work alongside others willing to organize such groups.

Does my Partner have to work for the Milwaukee Police Department for me to join?
NO!!!  Shielded Hearts is open to all women in relationships with men in Law Enforcement, regardless of what department you are associated with.  Police, Sheriffs, Corrections Officers, or even local Federal Law Enforcement are welcome!

What if I don't live in the Greater Milwaukee Area?
Currently all our activities take place in the Milwaukee area.  All women willing to travel to the Milwaukee area are welcome to participate.  If you would be interested in starting a Shielded Hearts group in your area, please contact us.

Why is Shielded Hearts restricted to Law Enforcement Officers?  What about Fire Fighters or other First Responders?
We believe that Law Enforcement Officers face different stresses than Fire Fighters and other First Responders.  In our desire to meet the needs of women in relationships with Law Enforcement Officers, we see the need to restrict our membership at this time.   However, if you would be interested in starting a group of Fire Fighters or First Responders, we would love to work with you.

Do I have to be a Christian to be involved in Shielded Hearts?
NO!!!  While we are a Christian organization, we welcome women from any spiritual background.  We will be upfront and honest as to what will exactly occur when we are together.  We want everyone to feel comfortable, knowing what to expect.  Everyone is free to participate in as many or as few activities as they would like, regardless of anyone's personal beliefs.

Can anyone have a Shielded Hearts email address?
YES, we would love to set up a shieldedhearts.com email address for any of our confirmed members.  You can set up your email address to function independently of your other accounts, or you can choose to have any emails you receive in your shieldedhearts.com account forwarded to a different email address.  We recommend this option if you have any security concerns about using a personal email account while communicating with others.

Is there a membership fee?
NO.  While there may be opportunities to purchase books, clothing, and other merchandise, at this time, there is no cost to become a member.  It is our intention to continue with this, provided that our needs are met through private contributions, grants, and other fund-raising ventures.

I would like to contribute financially to Shielded Hearts.  How can I make a donation?

We would be very grateful for your support!  We depend on the generous support of individuals, churches and businesses to bring hope to police families and serve the community.  Please click here to find out more information.
